Join Chef Jayashree Iyengar of Popping Mustard Seeds for this three-part series and learn to make Indian cuisine from scratch! Each hands-on cooking session will include delicious foods full of Indian flavor! Chef Jayashree, originally from southeast India, will share not just culinary expertise but also the cultural significance of the ingredients used in each dish. Grow your culinary repertoire with these flavorful dishes! To wrap up the series, we’ll enjoy a cool refreshing lassi drink, alongside comforting kitchedi and raita.
This series is vegetarian friendly. Vegan and gluten free options are available by request.
Jayashree Iyengar is the owner and manager of Popping Mustard Seeds LLC and an experienced chef. She launched her Indian vegetarian cooking class business in 2015 and her custom-created vegetarian Indian meal kits in 2022. Originally from Chennai, India, she moved to the United States over forty years ago to pursue graduate studies in mechanical engineering. After transitioning from an engineering career to the food industry, she earned a master's degree in food studies from Chatham University in 2019. Her goal is to present a fun and informative cooking experience.
