Event Summary

Living with Flowers: Floral Design at Home Summer Garden Series

Additional Details

Tues. June 24, July 8, 22, Aug. 5, 19, 7 p.m. - 8:15 p.m.

Have you ever purchased a gorgeous bouquet of fresh flowers and felt unsure on how to arrange them once you brought them home? Join Polly for a casual and informative weekly design session learning a variety of design techniques to develop your skills in garden vase design for pleasing results. The Summer Garden Series will focus on including locally grown seasonal garden flowers, as well as exploring local foraging options to add to your vase design. Students have the option to purchase their own fresh flowers to design along in class, or watch the recorded session and design afterwards. You will learn foliage basing skills, vase design styles, color theory, proper flower care, and tips for extending the vase life of your summer garden blooms.

Students may register for class up to the day before class June 24. For the summer session of Living with Flowers, students will purchase their own flowers bi-weekly from local farm and garden markets, grocery stores, or florists. A supply list of other basic tools and materials will be sent out prior to class and can be purchased from any major craft retailer. Information will be sent out prior to each class for easily accessible materials being demonstrated in the upcoming class if you wish to purchase them and design along during the live class. Each recorded session will be available for 30 days after class for your review. A brief orientation will be sent once registered with guidance for basic tools, vases, flower sourcing, and information needed to get the most from your design experience. Be part of our floral community, and share your questions and designs in our live chat through the class moderator.
