This class is an elective in the Ecological Gardening certificate program.
Instructor: Kristin Davey is a Horticulturist at Brookside Gardens in Wheaton, MD. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Ornamental Horticulture from SUNY Farmingdale, and is currently finishing her master’s thesis on the introduction of botany as curriculum in women’s schools in the mid 19th century at Sonoma State University in Sonoma, CA. Prior to landing at Brookside, Kristin was living in northern California where she practiced biointensive farming and sustainable horticulture for over a decade. She is a NOFA Accredited Land Care Professional. Kristin lives in Washington, DC where she enjoys reading, walking, cooking, and tending to her little backyard garden with her pup, Shep.
